uncomfortable experience

The culture of this hotel made me feel so uncomfortable!

firstly, after I booked the hotel we noticed that this hotel would NOT give you any chance to cancel your reservation for free, no matter how early your book is. And it does not show this information (customer can not cancel their reservation for free) in the early steps in your reservation.

when you arrive the hotel, it will charge you for all your stay days in the time you check in. I never had such a uncomfortable experience before. Give me a feeling that you are not trusted and also you will have no chance to leave the hotel if you don't like it in the first day!

overall this hotel is the worst one in my whole trip, even the worst one in whole hotel-experience.

Unique Quality: I don't see anything outstanding in this hotel.

The Caswell Hotel is a small...

The Caswell Hotel is a small family-run hotel situated in the heart of Westminster, in easy reach from Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Houses of Parliament and the Tate Gallery. I havn't been to the Caswell myself, but I've stayed at another hotel in Gloucester Street - sorry, don't remember the name of that hotel.

If Size Doesn't Matter

by Goner about Caswell Hotel

Quote from Frommers: "Run with consideration and thoughtfulness by Mr. and Mrs. Hare, Caswell is on a cul-de-sac, a calm oasis in a busy area. Mozart lived nearby while he completed his first symphony, as did that "notorious couple" of the literati, Harold Nicholson and Victoria Sackville-West. Beyond the chintz-filled lobby, the decor is understated. There are four floors of well-furnished but not spectacular bedrooms. Private bathrooms are small units with a shower stall; however, corridor bathrooms are adequate and well maintained. How does the Caswell explain their success? One staff member said, "This year's guest is next year's business."

Budget hotels in London usually have small rooms, however THIS ONE WAS REALLY SMALL, but it was very clean. Always check the rooms and beds before paying, it's expected. Caswell has a 2 Diamond rating from the English Tourist Board. It’s a small family run hotel in the middle of Westminister. It’s rated #351 on London’s popularity index. The room rates come with breakfast.

We Made It

by Goner

We took the National Express Bus into London to Victoria Station. Paid four pounds for a room reservation at the tourist counter at the station and splurged on a cab to take us to the Caswell Hotel - our legs weren't ready for walking.****
The National Express did charge $25 one way and $29 roundtrip from Heathrow to Victoria Station
