Good B&B or apt in London
Just found out that my reservation at the Lincoln House Hotel (AVOID THEM) is no longer valid -- they "forgot" to take care of it and booked the room....
SO we are really in need of the names of GOOD bed and breakfasts OR short-term apt/studio in London for four nights. Our budget is no higher than $225 a night (but hopefully lower) -- we could go higher for air conditioning!!! ANY LEADS would be greatly appreciated.....dates are 19-23 July. We do not have to stay in the middle of town but we prefer the northern suburbs to the south. Thanks!

I had good luck staying at a rented apartment called One Harrington Gardens. It's very close to the Gloucester Road Tube stop and in a lovely neighborhood. I don't think it's air-conditioned but neither is my flat! I think you can find it on the web... good management but I don't know the current price. As you know, London is really expensive these days. I had a very large living room with small kitchen and very modern bath.

If you can afford up to $225 per NIGHT (not $225 for 4 nights total), then you are in excellent shape. Just go to the major booking sites (expedia, orbitz, etc.) and start looking.

Hi -
for 225 bucks a night you should be fine - for example right now Expedia.com have a studio at Citadines Apart'hotel Holborn-Covent Garden for 175 dollars a night - and it has air conditioning...
Citadines South Kensington is even cheaper. It's worth taking a look.

Kensington is a nice area, your budget should not be a problem, but once you have found a hotel try a few different sites to see if you can get the same hotel cheaper. There seems to be a lot of variation through the different agancies.
