Go to www.couchsurfing.org and you'll find a lot of options available to you there.

You have left it rather late to find accommodation of any type.

Flat shares are usually for much longer than a couple of weeks.

I suggest you look at hostel accommodation, which is the cheapest option: www.hostelbookers.com and www.hostelworld.com list all London hostels.

Or you could try www.couchsurfing.net

Sorry, www.couchsurfing.com (it's the same as the .org site)

The Funniest Things Can Happen

by keeweechic

Wandering around London on my own, in and out of back lanes, dodging traffic in the bigger streets and being in awe of everything I had only previously read about. One of my funniest moments was being proposed to while walking up Regent Street (no, not propositioned!, proposed to). Goodness knows who that Irish guy was but he was sure 'happy' enough.:-))

English are very polite. Be polite too. They always say excuse me when asking questions and say please after almost every requestsentence. Habitants of London only speak english, no other languages and they have a funny accent.

There are also typically London telephones, nice to make a picture of! Don't actually telephone to the homefront in it, because it's expensive. You'd better phone in one of the phoneoffices in the center of town.
