Great hotel, luxury feeling
by wgjedrem
Stayed here back in 2004. This is probably the most luxury hotel I have stayed at in London. The hotel is situated close to Pimlico Station. Rooms are large, with sky tv incl. The bathrooms are fantastic. Breakfast was perfect too.
The staff was fantastic aswell.
Highly recommended, but we got a great weekend deal, probably not that cheap on weekdays.
Unique Quality: Great staff
Big clean rooms
Directions: Pimlico Tube Station. 5min walk

A pretty and peaceful hotel in Central London
by rosanna_lee
I live in London, so I've never stayed there, but I know it's fantastic. Although it's in Central London, it's very calm and has lots of really lovely gardens. There is a swimming pool, and a small shopping arcade. It's definately worth it!

Looking 4 a home-like feeling & spacious room?
by Elainehead
Dolphin Square Hotel is a 4-star with a 24-hour front desk, near Pimlico tube, safe and calm area, had good reviews on tripadvisor and their rooms seemed spacious from pics. I didn't book via their website cuz it wasn't secure. Booked it via laterooms site with this same hotel offer: a "run of the house" available at the check-in (75 £ VAT included).
Our room was n° 211, on the second floor, facing the front street. To our surprise it was actually a studio with a kitchenette, spacious bedroom (queen size bed, very comfortable), good-sized bathroom (equiped with shower/bath, hair drier, soap, shower/bath gel and body balm) with direct sunlight. Problem: bathroom and bedroom were a bit cold even with the heating on. Extra blankets and pillows on the closet. Do not move much around when showering because water might splash everywhere.
There's a shopping arcade in the hotel, with a small market, grocery store, hairdresser, souvenir shop. After getting back to the hotel from a concert (had no problems even though walking in not well-lit dark streets), we made use of the room service. We both ordered penne pasta with sundried tomatoes and pesto. It was very good! I think the dish was about 9 £. Expensive, I know, but my hubby was too tired to get out to have dinner.
Also a health and fitness spa in the hotel.
If you need other pics from our studio, e-mail me.
Unique Quality: Equipped and clean studio, safe area, near the tube.

The room rates in this hotel is usually expensive (between 200-300 £). I found a great last-minute rate (75 £ VAT included). I'm just coming back here ONLY if I found again a very good low-rate.
Directions: The hotel is about 2 1/2 blocks from the Pimlico tube. Mostly residential area, almost deserted even during the day.
Nearest tube: Pimlico (Victoria Line).
Tube exit: South (it's the exit on your right).

Luxury Hotel for a bargain
by twojazztravelers
This hotel was amazing. The room was beautiful featuring a bedroom and a living room with a small kitchen. The decorations were lovely and the windows look out into a beautiful courtyard. The staff were very friendly and very helpful to tourists. There are several restaurants onsite as well as a pharmacy, hair salon, cafe, grocer, and convienence store. The kitchen in the room is fully stocked so you can save some money on eating out and cook in your room. The room service was outstanding as well. the Salmon omelets are just out of this world. This hotel is everything you could want and more. Wonderful price for what you get. We stayed in a double deluxe suite and had a wonderful booking agent at the hotel.
Unique Quality: The hair salon is amazing. The girls in there are top rate and you walk out of there looking like a trendy Londoner instead of the tired traveler you felt like going in. This is a little out of the normal touristy area but well worth the extra 5 minutes to get there. This is right next to the River Thames so you can enjoy a lovely walk along Grosvernor Rd to see the Battersea Power Station, MI6, and then on to Westminster. Located a short walk from the Pimlico Tube Stop.

Excellent Choice
by cjcross
We stayed at the Dolphin Square for four days in October 2004. The room was huge with a very comfortable king size bed, the bathroom was luxurious, and there was a fully-equipped kitchen.
Service was attentive and quick. Everything was spotless and well-kept.
It's 3 blocks from the Pimlico tube station, and a 15 minute walk from Westminster.
We booked through Priceline - $125US/night
Unique Quality: There's a large indoor pool and health club available to hotel guests.
Directions: Pimlico

My wife and I stayed for 8 nights, from June 6 to 14, 2009, and it was a superb experience. Service was very good and friendly. The location was very convinient with bus lines and a tube station very near. At a reasonable walking distance we could find some of the hot place as such King´s Road and Sloane Square. The Tate Britain Museum is also very close. in the neighbourhood are several very interesting restaurants and shops. Since we have a son living in London, we are planning to return at least twice a year and Dolphin House will be our first option. We definitively recomend Dolphin House for those who wants to experience a home living during a voyage. Dolphin House is a serviced apartment concept of lodging, where you can find the privacy and confort of home with hotel housekiping services for daily cleaning and doing beds. Residents at Dolphin House have access to an exceptional range of onsite facilities, including the Club Lounge and Champagne Bar, a beautifully designed contemporary indoor pool, riverside tennis court, gymnasium and squash courts. And if you have an appetite you can enjoy the offerings of Dolphin Bar & Grill – delicious, organic food served throughout the day and evening.

My fiance and I stayed at Dolphin House for two nights in mid-June. We had a first floor "Run of the House" room, which was a standard room according to Expedia. We were pleasantly surprised by the large size of the room (by European standards) and the general comfort/cleanliness of the room. Ours included a small kitchenette (bascially just a sink and small fridge), king size bed (deliciously soft and comfortable after a day of heavy-duty sightseeing), and full bath. The hotel is part of a large residential community which is why we chose it- rather than be in the completely touristy areas all of the time, it was wonderful to walk to the Tube in the morning with all of the workers, school-children, etc. A small glimpse into London living. Only three blocks to the Pimlico station and a few restaurants/corner stores. We walked 15 minutes to Parliament, 20 minutes to the London Eye. Only complaint: even though it was not warm outside, we were very stuffy and warm at night inside the room. We asked for a fan, and the concierge brought one within 5 minutes, and it worked just fine. All in all, a delightful place to stay! We would definitely stay there again.
Understated style, decent space
by TripAdvisor Member Slatters
Dolphin House is quite a find for central London. The reception and rooms all have an understated stylishness - muted earth tones, modern design - and you get a good amount of space for your money (at least by London standards).
Rooms are spotlessly clean and feature a mini-kitchen that allows you to save quite a few pounds by making your own breakfasts.
Service was generally friendly and efficient. Location is superb for central London sightseeing (Houses of Parliament, London Eye, Trafalgar Square all pretty close).
Two criticisms. None of the rooms appear to have aircon, which could be a problem if you happen to be there during the short British summer. Wasn't a problem for us, as it was pleasantly mild during our stay, but I might be wary about booking here in August.
Also, the restaurant in the (very beautiful) gardens was not up to much. Slow service and patchy food - avoid the horrendously overcooked pasta.
Overall, a great spot at a reasonable price, however.
Great Location and Value
by TripAdvisor Member Californian24
We had a one bedroom unit for a week. Even though tiny by the US standards, it had a Bedroom, Bath, Separate Living Room and a Kitchen with a Stove, Small Refrigerator and bare minimum appliances. Gave little bit of homey feeling compared to tiny hotel rooms in Europe. Rooms were quite clean and comfortable. Did not see individual temperature control in the room which could be a problem on very hot/cold days. The furniture was nothing fancy but adequate.
It is about 10-15 minutes walk to the Victoria Station and London Eye. Bus 24 which goes directly to quite a few tourist spots and Pimlico tube station are a very short walking distance. There is also a nice commercial area with restaurants, shops, full grocery store, etc within walking distance, so the location is ideal.
There are shops, ATM and a restaurant within the hotel which was very convenient. High Speed wireless Internet access is free from the Hotel bar and worked very well.
All the people at the hotel were very professional, friendly and helpful.
Overall, a great value and location especially if you are looking for something more than a dry hotel room. Would go back any time.
