Yes post it as "meet". Give yourself a week or so to settle in and find your way around then suggest an early evening meet up for a beer and maybe a bite to eat at somewhere that you find that looks good - especially if there's some sort of early deal: two-for-one, or similar.
If you make it a Monday I'll sign up and pop across from Devon to catch up with the London crowd - they are a fun bunch and very welcoming (plus your Antipodean acccent will not be out of place ;))
Give me a shout if you choose a Monday.

Sure, count me in for that.
As John says, give yourself a while to find your feet, then send me an email and we can meet up, I am normally in London.
Valentina's suggestion about putting it on the meets page is good as well as not everyone comes on the Misc. forum.
Speak soon,
fergy.

Travel Tips for London
Heterogeneous architecture.
by breughel
Just read in the Telegraph of 24 Oct 2009.
"Ben Bradshaw, the Culture Secretary, has criticised the Prince of Wales for interfering with a high-profile housing development because he did not approve of its style of modern architecture."
I must say that, when looking at the architectural landscape of London and remembering how it looked half a century ago at the time of my first visits, I'm not really enthusiast about the evolution.
Maybe I like harmony and that's not what I find nowadays looking at London. There is big contrast - an architectural shock - between modern buildings and older ones crammed on each other.
Some modern architecture is interesting but the narrow streets, the absence of perspective make me understand the reluctance of Prince Charles.

go shopping down Portobello Road and Camden Market for excellent flares and 60s shirts. Also, try Stoke Newington Church St for second hand books and clothes. My mad college days at Imperial College - here I am being mad and Patriotic on someone's bike back in 1995 on VE day.
Bring An Umbrella!
by luke850
It can rain in London at any time of the year, and usually does! Do not be fooled by a clear, bright sky, as this can turn into a torrentual downpour in a matter of seconds. Take an umbrella with you and keep an eye on weather reports.
General

Many people who has been in London says that they'll be back. Some may think that there's no place like London in the world. I think so, too. London is definitely one of the most facinating cities where I've ever been. There's always something new and you can't ever know London well because it's always
changing. There are so many choises that you can make when choosing what to do
and see.
Festivals
by Gili_S
London and England are also known for the great rock festivals here. In London I went to the Fleadh festival in Finsbury Park. The area in London is not really nice one but the festival was great, well, could have been even better without the rain but still, with artists like Neil Young, Waterboys, Gary More, Aimee Mann, Starsailor I was really enjoying it, even the kids did.
More pictures on my travelogue.
