I stayed in Earls Court and its very nice, by car which i do go, park by the exhibition center ,reserved ahead parking, cost is cut in half 16£ per day,and take the piccadilly line tube all over London, very nice and few tourists.
So even if you are without a car, the area is very good to stay in. There is a nice studio rentals just in front of tube station.

Unique Quality: very easy on and off the tube at Earls Court, nice area, very British, not too many tourists,and direct to center.
the rooms are spacious and clean, the owner lives right there above floors and always available
Directions: right off main road where Earls Court tube is located.
