take a tourist bus that stops at the most interesting places in town. I remember it wasn't cheap but it was well worth. Many cities have these kind of buses which allows you to go from one place to another as many times as you want in a day. It's a double-decker bus with no ceiling on top so you can sit down and feel the wind as you see Trafalgar Square.
