1. Today in my British History class, I learned that the bobbies are fairly new, in European terms at least. In 1829 the police were reorganized and bobbies came to be, named after Sir Robert Peel, the Prime Minister at the time.2. On a tour of the Houses of Parliament (my favorite place) I saw this big green bag in the House of Commons. I was curious as to what it was, so after the tour, I asked the guide. Apparently, if you get enough people to sign a petition, it gets put in that bag, and the house Must discuss it. And that's where the saying "it's in the bag" comes from!
