National Express Coach from/to Stansted Airport
There are several possibilities to get from Stansted Airport into central London. There's the Stansted Express train, which is the fastest way but surely the most expensive. Other alternatives are two coach companies which run frequent services into central London. Terravision and National Express. The National Express network is larger and their buses are running more frequently, so I usually end up with them. The A6 service connects Stansted Airport with Victoria coach station, calling also at Golders Green, Finchley Road and Baker Street. And now, I come to the main reason of writing this tip. If you have your hotel/hostel in Bayswater (an area where many hostels and hotels are) or any other area close to the north/northeast of Hyde Park, get out at Baker Street. You don't have to stand in a traffic jam in central London, get out at Victoria station and travel back via tube. Baker Street is just three tube stations away (Central Line) from Bayswater, much closer than Victoria station. The coach stops just a few meters away from the tube station, almost in front of it.
To get back to Stansted, look out for stop "19" or stop "S" (they are next to each other). This stop is located at Gloucester Place. Coming from the tube station and walking to the right along Marylebone Road, it is the second road to the right.
