The one thing one mustn't miss...

The one thing one mustn't miss is a chance to walk in the many beautiful parks and gardens, like St. James Park, Hyde Park and Kew Gardens. Taking a train ride to Kew Gardens and stopping in a small coffee shop for tea and some cakes with my parents and sister, before we went for our walk in the garden.

Walk the streets of central London. Set yourself the minimum of a day to do this, two days is better. There is so much sightseeing to do, as well as many museums and galleries. If shopping is you thing, try Oxford street, the market at Carnaby Street or Harrods in South Kensington. I spotted this small Harrods delivery van at traffic lights near Westminster Abbey.
Shopping

SHOPPING. One of my favourite activities in London is shopping, there are so many cool shops that cater for everybodies tastes. There is Carnaby Street, Oxford Street, Bond Street and many more where the shopping is second to none. One of my favourite shops is Topman. It is situated in Oxford Street, just by Oxford Circus. Here you can buy all sorts of fashionable clothes at reasonable prices. For the girls try Topshop next door.
Be Polite
by twojazztravelers
Londoners know how to stand in a queue (line) for shops, shows, bathrooms very patiently and politely. It's different than in some places in the US where you have the pushy person or the rude person trying to cut in line... Be polite in London and they are polite to you. Same the whole world over...well... sort of.. :)
Trooping the Colours

I am not a royalist but in my days of anglophilia, I wanted to see all aspects of English life - absorbed it as a sponge - and therefore went to this ceremony 1987. It is basically the Queen's official birthday celebrations. An annual arrangement as June seems more fitting than April to her. I was just a street spectator but if you want to, you can buy tickets and sit at Horseguards Parade, where you get to see a military display by different regiments from all over the Commonwealth. These world regiments take it in turns to get various honours from the Queen. Afterwards, they all parade to Buckingham Palace and that is when I got this picture of Diana and the Queen mother...Today, it is a bit bizarre to look at actually...
