Following several VT's recommendations I stayed in a 2-people studio at Harrington Court Service Apartments in April 2009 for 8 nights and the stay was very good.
Upon our request we were given a studio in the back part of the building; the rooms there are quieter but slightly cramped, which is acceptable considering the prime location of the apartments. The rooms in the front are more spacious.
The studio includes as advertised a double bed, a sofa, a kitchenette, a convenient dinner table with 2 chairs, a toilette and shower. It is very nicely furnished, the cupboard is spacious enough and there are plenty of drawers and hangers. The entrance passage can be used conveniently for ironing, and an iron and an ironing table are included. Each studio has it own water boiler, which is very sufficient for one person, but after one takes a shower, the other person must wait some half hour or more for the water to reheat.
Each room has a telephone with its own phone number.
Everything is very clean, good smelling, of good quality and even elegant, the towels are good and changed every day, the lifts are spacious and functioning well, the location is good, close to a tube station and frequent busses.
There were some small glitches, the more noticeable being a too soft bed mattress (bad for people suffering from backaches), a very marginal wireless Internet reception and a bad handle of the shower. The staff tried hard and even succeeded to help with some of the glitches; they also told me that they are going to improve their wireless system following customers’ complains.
The reception, housekeeping and maintenance staff is polite, friendly and fairly efficient. The maintenance guy Steve is very resourceful and willing to help, but at same time very busy and hard to reach. The most helpful reception lady is Katy - if you need something important, better wait for her shift.
Now with the inexpensive UK pound, the price is bearable and I can certainly recommend the Harrington Court for travellers looking for fairly priced service apartments centrally located.
Unique Quality: Within a short walking distance from the main area of London museums.
