Weather and climate
by jacob_m
It rains in London, doesn't it?
Yes it rains in London, probably more than on average in Europe, but it does not always rain.
Sometimes it rains for a week and then it is sunny for a week.
Although most of the time it is just a little cloudy.
What about the temperature then?
In the winter the temperature never drops below 0 degrees, average temperature is probably around 5-8 degrees.
It snows maybe once or twice a year, but the snow melts away in a few hours.
It is never really that cold (OK it depends on what you compare it to), but it can be very windy which is the reason people often freeze.
The normal temperature in the summer is between 20 and 30 degrees. When it is really hot, taking the underground is unbearable as there is no air condition.
But the weather changes often and it is hard to predict, so bring both a sun cap and an umbrella and you'll be fine.

Visit Rock Circus on...

Visit Rock Circus on Piccadilly. One look at Johnny Rotten and your ears are full of anti-establishment paroles. A-nar-chyyyyy!
As I entered, I had to stand myself next to the waxen Jon Bon Jovi and flash a wide grin for the photo which I could later buy for a fiver. However, as I browsed the box at the exit and fished out my photo, I was terrified - I looked so unbelievably stupid, fat and what have you, that I dropped everything and ran before somebody could start to convince me to pay 5 pounds for that!!!
Regent's Park
by kris-t
Regent's Park (officially The Regent's Park) is one of the Royal Parks of London. It is in the northern part of central London partly in the City of Westminster and partly in the London Borough of Camden. The park has an outer ring road called the Outer Circle (4.3km) and an inner ring road called the Inner Circle, which contains the most carefully tended section of the park, Queen Mary's Gardens.
Apart from a link road between these two, the park is reserved for pedestrians. The south, east and most of the west sides of the park are lined with elegant white stucco terraces of houses designed by John Nash. Running through the northern end of the park is Regent's Canal which connects the Grand Union Canal to the former London Docks.
Summer Festivals in Trafalgar Square
by angiebabe
There are various events held in popular Trafalgar Square throughout the summer and through the year - with the draw of being a central spot of top tourist sites its such a lovely spot to be any time of year and particularly nice on a fine summers day.
This year the stage set up for the Trafalgar Square festival has been combined with the excitement of the Olympic Games - of which London holds the next one in 2012 - with the Olympic events broadcast live on the stage screen.
