It was when planning my trip to London that I first discovered VT. Of all the great London pages I viewed, I got the most value from Kennetrose. Any trip to London without her insider views will be incomplete.

I arrived in London with a very sore back and am looking for a spa in London that offers Steam, Sauna and possibly a pool. I'd appreciate a recommendation. I'm in my mid 40's, male. I'm staying in a private residence but open to a day pass at a hotel. Ideally would like to find a spa with seperate facilites for men and women.
Thank you.
Perhaps, as London is a very large place, you could give us where you are located. There might not be a place in your neighbourhood but by knowing where you are, we could suggest places within a reasonable distance.
I'm in East London near Romford but prefer to come into Central london, anything along a tube stop line will work for me, thank you.
I have no idea on this question at all but this link may help

Thanks, I've done a google search and came up with this review. I'm hoping somebody can give me a personal recommendation.
I live in San Francisco and we have two places, one is a traditional Japanese bath house and the other Korean, very clean, quiet, soothing, offering steam, sauna, jacuzzi and cold pool with options for body scrubs and massage.
spalondon is a cheap option it is the UK's first public sector day spa offering high quality services at affordable prices. You can use all the facilities incl pool for GBP21.50 for 3 hours there are 6 chambers you can use as detailed in the link incl swimming pool. There is a london spa in Bethnal Green East end Central Line as well as Swiss Cottage jubilee line.

The other cheaper option is to find a gym that offers a free day pass.
There are many other expensive spa options and spa breaks.
Thank you everyone for your help and suggestions, I'm leaving London tomorrow.

Is it worth the long queuing and the 11,5 GBP? I still am wondering.
The view is however magnificent and you make one turn in the wheel lasting about half an hour and showing you London from high, with panoramic views you can't get anywhere else except if you should fly over London.
I would settle with a shorter turn and a lower price. I find the 11,5 GBP a bit exaggerated.
To avoid too many lining up for the tickets it is advisable to book it on internet or book it by phone if you have a visa card at hand.
I am not sure if you can book individual tickets by phone, you can by internet.
Anyway check it the website of
the London Eye to find out more
it is magificent to view all those buildings from high on top of the wheel.
If you are not afraid of heights, then look down. The cabins are made out of glass to ensure you a great surrounded view.
At the end of the trip you might want to stand close to the exit door as on your way down they will make a picture of you.
You can purchase the picture at the exit. But beware, they are very expensive!
For more pictures of the London eye check my Fotki pictures.
I can't forget Leicester square and, above all Covent garden, in both places you can find street artists exhibitions.
Before leaving a dear friend told me, when you feel sad or lonely, go to Covent garden, something magic always happen there, and she was damn right.
I've never been in here (as far as I can remember) but this is the pub in Whitechapel which was made infamous when Ronnie Kray shot and killed George Cornell on 9th March 1966. The Kray twins were notorious East End gangland killers who frequented various pubs in this area. If walls could talk, every building could tell a story.
London houses many ethnic people from all over the world and from many religions, they are no different to any other peoples of the world.
Any kind of discrimination is against law here in london, you have been warned..
Show absolute respect at all times.
