Quality London Accommodation

I have stayed in London many times for both business and pleasure purposes. This is the first place I have stayed where I had a proper nights sleep un-interupted by traffic and the general buzz of the city.

Basic but comfortable accommodation, staff are really helpful and friendly.

Was able to leave luggage in the luggage room on the day of checkout for no charge.

Great location a short walk from the Embankment tube/railway station.

Unique Quality: Location is the key benefit, short walking distance to the London Eye, Houses of Parliament, Covent Gardens, Leicester Square, Trafalgar Square, The National Portrait Gallery and much more.

L.S.E residences

by evamore

Hi,
We are 2 first time visitors to London (2 weeks in July). Wondered if the accommodations offered in LSE Halls of Residence are value for money. Northumberland House in Northumberland Ave. has en-suite rooms for 64GBP twin with shared kitchenette. We are not bothered by no television etc. in the rooms.
Is this area as close to the major theatres as it appears to be on maps?
Would appreciate any comments.

It's pretty much as close as you can get to the theatre! It's a great location and that is a good price. If you are interested in seeing a show, usually if you go the day of to one of the many last minute ticket places in Leichester Square (about 10 minute walk from your hotel) you can get tickets to any show for about a third of the price. I used to go once a week when I lived there and I never spend more than 25 pounds a show and always got good seats. If you like good cocktails too you should check out Jewel Bar in Covent Garden... it's behind the Adelphi theater (on the strand) on maiden Lane. Have fun and feel free to email any other questions!

University accommodation is usually very good value. Haven't stayed at the LSE places but have stayed at the Imperial College ones - and they are excellent.

they also are likely to be a "sociable" place to stay. I was a student in london. never visited LSE halls though, but the college for gigs.

Thanks for the replies. We'll be joining the queues for discounted theatre tickets.
