Cheap & Convenient (Hole)
I don't know if I should recommend this hotel. If you don't care what your room looks like or if the bed's comfortable, but just want to save money ( 30 Pounds a night for a single) & have a good location, this is a fine place. I asked for a pile of extra blankets, which I put under the sheet, to pad the springs poking up through the mattress. This worked fine. I had to be careful not to stumble when I walked across the room, as there was a depression under the carpet ( a hole ). I had one of those plastic ensuite bathrooms, which was okay & interesting. The room had a phone & working color tv on the bedside table, window to open ( London wasn't hot when I went) & a wardrobe.
I didn't see any of the other rooms, but know there are bigger ones than mine. Even triple and Family rooms. Many Indian people stay there. I think I was the only American that week, which I relished ! !
Unique Quality: Pretty stone patio in front of entrance with flowers growing & shade. I enjoyed sitting there at a table. I asked to bring my breakfast (included in the price of the room ) out there & the staff was more than helpful with that. All the staff was nice, actually. I enjoyed several memorable converstions with one of the managers, at the front desk.
The breakfast dining room is in the lower level. Nothing fancy. You get coffee & toast, like a French breakfast, sort of.
