concerts

by hyeeh6

Hello, I will be visiting London and paris at the end of march beginning april and I am trying to find out a great site that I can go to to find out and purchase tickets about any concerts while visiting. If anyone knows where I can go online to find this information please let me know.

Thanks in advance,

Shelly

TimeOut Magazine (also a website) lists all the concerts. I'm not sure if you mean rock concerts, classical music etc., but you should be able to find everything there.

You can also check the SouthBank Centre's website. They have all sorts of musical events there.

Re: concerts

Yes, what type of concerts/music do you mean?

Here's the Timeout London site:

http://www.timeout.com/london/classical/

Also look at:

http://www.visitlondon.com/events/music/

and

http://www.londontown.com/events

where you can search by event/specific date.

Re: concerts

Here are some links for Paris:

http://www.timeout.com/paris/

http://en.parisinfo.com/shows-exhibitions-paris/ (search engine for music as well)

ticketmaster.co.uk is probably the biggest ticket site in the UK,

Have a great trip!

I get all my cheap tickets from www.lastminute.co.uk or www.whatsonstage.com ...both do tickets some way in advance as well as last minute offers, and both can be trusted. The other way to do it is to look at the venues themselves...main london music venues would be those like The Forum Kentish Town, Shepherds Bush Empire, Brixton Academy, The Roundhouse Camden, The O2 etc

Travel Tips for London

Bus Trip

by IrishFem

Because London is so vast and l only had a week l decided to take the bus tour with the Big Bus Company. Bought my ticket in Victoria for £11 normally £17 but l have a student card. This particular tour takes two routes, the red route which takes about 2 hours and the blue route which takes about 3 and half. This also includes a river cruise which l personally thought a waste of time. You pass by the same sites in the bus. If your going to any of the attractions you can buy your tickets from the bus ticket sellers and you won't have to "q" for entry to most places. The tour gives you the option of hoping on and off when you feel like it. The supply plastic rain coats if it starts to rain. They conduct the tour is various languages. The ticket is valid for 24 hours. For more information try the following.

To blend in - don't wear shorts

by profuselycool

I just recently came to this conclusion: America basically invented shorts. No one wears them anywher eelse! I don't really mind standing out amongst the throngs of crowds and not beeing viewed as a local, but if this is important to you, do not wear shorts in London, even in the warmest weather!

by bobolink

Courtesy and politeness are the common currency in any travel. Watch out for hand gestures. They may not mean the same thing that they do in your own country. And be prepared for an entirely different brand of the English language. Winston Churchill said someting to the effect that America and England are two like nations seperated by a common language . You haven't lived until you have been subjected to cockney English found in the East End of London.
