Me and my friends, 6 total, stayed here for little over a week. Great people, went out of their way to be nice to us, even after a little mishaps... Knowledgeable and very friendly to tourists. The bar downstairs is a great asset. I myself run to the Tames and then a lap around Big Ben and back, it felt around 2 miles and is a very pretty route. So walking distance is not bad at all, plus there are plenty of pubs on the way to get a refill
College bar downstairs (gets pretty packed on Thursdays), meaning cheap beers, pound a pint and they open at 1100ish, so by the time you'll get up the bar will be waiting for you. You can even order pizza to be delivered there (even though you can order it yourself and save a few pounds, the walk across the street could be extenuating)
