Great place to stay and just down the road to the Soho Night Life district and Orchard St is the best place to do some shopping.

The YHA Oxford Street (which isn't actually on Oxford Street) is great quality accommodation right in the heart of London. I only stayed a night as it was easier to stay there to get to the airport the next morning than with my relatives further out, but I can recommend the place. The rooms were very tidy with bedding for just four people. Everything was very clean and it was nice and quiet at night. The hostel only provides about 75 beds, so it is one of London's smallest. Therefore, book ahead if you plan to stay.

Oxford Street Youth Hostel, the kind of place where people really do meet in the lounge and get to know each other. That's me to the left of the guy in the USA shirt.
21.50 GBP A great location, a lot of the tourist sights are actaully within walking distance from here! There is a kitchen right off the lounge, and everyone seems to gather here, more so than at other hostels I have stayed at.
I am a student in Tokyo and would travel to london in july. I inquired a place to stay called City of London Youth Hostel and it seems great. If anyone had tried staying in this place would appreciate his/her tips. Or if somebody could recommend a better place to stay would appreciate very much.
This is my first trip to the city and would stay for 3 nights.

All hostels that form part of the Youth Hotel Association of England & Wales are to set standards and they are regulated to Hostelling Internation standards.
The City hostel is about 300m from St Paul's Cathedral right inthe heart of the City. You can book most of the London Hostels through the IBN network or by going to the website www.yha.org.uk
