Good location; the rest just ok

    by

We went to London in a very busy weekend (with the Tour de France, Wimbledon and Live Earth concerts), so it wasn't really easy to find a good hotel. This is also the reason why it was a bit expensive, but still I thought we would've gotten a nicer hotel than ours for the money we paid. There was nothing really wrong with our room, but the decoration gave me the feeling I was in some sort of cheaper motel. But it was clean and we had everything we needed, so maybe it's just me.
The staff was very friendly, but a lot of times they gave the impression that they didn't really know what they were doing.
We never ate here (except for a croissant and a coffee) so I can't comment on the food.

Unique Quality: The best quality of this hotel of course is the very good location. It's under the London Eye, so right in the centre and next to the water.

Directions: In County Hall, right under the London Eye.

    City hotel

I stayed at Travel Inn County hall on a business trip while visiting an exhibition at Earl's Court.
My room was clean not too big not too small with en-suite bathroom, TV, hairdryer, tea making facilities. No special decoration etc. It's not really a place to stay if you're looking for typically british accomodation with four poster beds and romantic flowery cusions but perfect for a business stay or for travellers who want to be quite close to a lot of London sights.

Breakfast buffet is not included in room rates but was quite good and quite a variety to choose from.

Unique Quality: Lucky me - I had a room with a great view overlooking Big Ben and Houses of Parliament on the other side of the river Thames. Quite impressive to wake up when Big Ben bells ring in the morning ...

The hotel is close to a lot of sights and located directly at the river Thames. Subway stations Westminster or Waterloo (Westminster is closer though I'd say). Plenty of restaurants around.

Directions: next to the "The London Eye" and close to Waterloo station

    Good family location

Stayed here with 2 kids. Nice, quiet hotel. Friendly staff, good size room, and easy to get where we needed to go from there. We really liked it, especially for the price!

Unique Quality: Close to London Eye & Waterloo station and on a quiet street.

It's a Travel Inn, the same as Travel Inns everywhere - clean, comfortable, fairly basic but with bathroom, TV, tea/coffee making facilities in every room, at a reasonable price for London.

Unique Quality: The most outstanding feature is the location - inside County Hall in central London, right next to the London Eye, the Saatchi Gallery, the Aquarium, the Imax cinema, Westminster Bridge... there are other hotels in this same building but not at this price. Only trouble is its popularity makes it difficult to get a room sometimes.

Directions: From Waterloo station, follow the signs to the London Eye and County Hall

Convenient and Clean

by lutheranchick about Premier Travel Inn

Premier Travel Inn County Hall is the best location for families and budget minded travelers! My husband and I stayed there and had a wonderful time. It couldn't be any closer to the main tube lines! The room was clean and comfortable even with no air conditioning. We visited in September and the weather was warm during the days and cool at night. Perfect!! Crowds were at a minimum. The food was ok....not great. Of course I'm not used to beans for breakfast. There were several spots nearby where you can get cheaper, better food. The Big Bus and Duck Tours pick up right outside. Nice bathroom with plenty of room. Toilet was kind of strange....small - but functional. The only really weird thing is there are NO drawers for your clothes in the room. Our room was on the side facing the Waterloo station so it was quiet but with no real view. If we squished our head toward the London Eye we could actually see it!! The little park we could see was very pretty with the trees lit up with blue twinkle lights! They were filming something in the park....but we didn't recognize any one famous.

Love the Travel Inn County Hall

by TripAdvisor Member Sarahms

Whenever I go to London I stay at the Travel Inn County Hall.

The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable - in fact Travel Inn has a100% satisfaction guarantee.

It is next door to the London Eye, The Aquarium is underneath the building, the Salvador Dali and Saatchi Museum are also part of the building. Westminster is across the bridge and its five minutes to either the Waterloo tube and train station or Westminster tube station

Travelinn

by piersend about Travelinn

The best thing about it is the reasonable prices for the rooms £80 for a family room-this is London we're talking about! Travelinn accomodation is usually pretty fair, especially if you got a family to pay for we've stayed at Putney Bridge too. But this one is very centrally located right by Westminster Bridge. The staff were very good even to the point of ringing us a cab when the tube strike was on - they get the cheapest rates apparently!

Great place for a family

Travel Inn County Hall is a great place for a family of four. We stayed for 10 days in a family room. The room was very large and very clean. The staff was excellent. When we had any questions, they immediately helped us. The breakfast buffet is also very good. However, the location is absolutlely terrific. You are within 5 minutes of two tube stops. The hotel is also just minutes from the London Eye and Big Ben. We will stay here again next time we visit London. You cannot do any better for the price!

...and a few more here - but any hotels in the Strand are not on the same side of the Thames as Waterloo, they are just listed as being *near* it.

I recommend the Premier Travel Inn at County Hall. It is a short walk to Waterloo station and right next to the London Eye. I enjoyed the pub and restaurant there also.
