Ordinary chain hotel made extraordinary by its location. Rooms are motel functional. Front desk ranges from uninformed to totally unhelpful, BUT you can't beat the location near Southwark Cathedral, The Globe Theatre and the famous Borough Market. Nearest tube station is London Bridge.

Pictures are of the area rather than the hotel itself. Breakfast is in an upstairs room of The Anchor Pub, which is a totally happening place in the evenings and weekends.

Unique Quality: It's in the middle of all the South Bank action Thames-side. Restaurants, museums, theatre, cathedral, historic ruins, "The Golden Hind" and bunches of seriously touristy things.

Best thing: It's just across the street from Vinopolis, which is a tour, a shop and several restaurants rolled into one.

Directions: It's not easy to find by car as you have to go around a bit to get on Park St, which then dead ends on the river.
