EasyJet Cabin Baggage

by hawkhead

Is there a weight limit for hand luggage as well as the size of 56x45x25? I have searched around the site but haven't come up with anything but perhaps I cannot see for looking?

I know the hold checked luggage is 20kilos per person......

As long as you can put it in the overhead locker yourself there is no weight limit.

Correct.

You can find it here:

http://www.easyjet.com/EN/Book/regulations.html#baggage

Where it says:

>>>> Save where the limits set locally are more restrictive, passengers are permitted one standard piece of hand baggage to a volume limit of 56x45x25cm (including wheels and pockets) (“Standard Hand Baggage”). It must fit without force into the gauges provided at check-in or departure gates. No weight restriction applies within reasonable limits — i.e. a passenger must be able to place the piece of luggage safely in the overhead storage bins without assistance. <<<<

Absolutely right. No weight limit as long as you can get it into the lockers yourself (and it fits the size limit) and they do stick to what they say on the website. They check the size limits though, if the bag looks a bit big (as with other airlines there are rack thingies at check-in and sometimes also at the gate).

I like Easyjet. :-)

Many thanks, one and all - I like to be sure before it's too late. And, Nhoolb, as you pointed out, I obviously couldn't see the information for all the looking I did! Dazzled by a surfeit of info!!

Yes it's strange that Easyjet don't give a weight restriction. My wife has just returned from Edinburgh with EJ and they did check her luggage for size both there and back.
Whereas most others put a size and weight limit

It's a good selling point for them against other budget airlines (specifically Ryanair), allowing people to travel more easily with cabin luggage only.

I am a compulsive book buyer and I have come perilously close to the Ryanair limit of 10 kg when flying back from somewhere. It's good to know that Easyjet takes a more relaxed attitude to carry-on baggage.

Travel Tips for London

Getting the best foreign exchange rate fro Pounds

by Rainbowsurfer

Your friends who are saying not to get cash in advance probably because of the falling pound may have good intentions but I don't think they're right.

The rate that your bank will give you from an ATM will not be a great rate plus they probably will have a handling charge.

I'd always recommend buying in advance with one of the online foreign exchange companies. I did a post about this on our blog 3 Guys on a London Bus. Here's a link to the post - http://3guysonalondonbus.com/2010/02/where-to-get-the-best-pound-exchange-rate-when-visiting-london

Hope that helps

Go to: The Kings Road in...

by Craggy

Go to: The Kings Road in Chelsea. This is a great kicked back area for shopping, and generaly spending your money. Some great resturants, and very unique shops. Also go to Camden market on a sturday - ITS BUSY!!! but some great clothes, and food. Sitting in the Taverstock Tavern - just across from Embankment tube station( its a floating pub) enjoying a warm balmy evening. Drinking beer, and talking about the total waste of energy employed, in being unhappy. We are here for such a finite amount of time - why waste it ;-) I know thats easy to say, but it will take most of us a lifetime to realise this..

Piccadilly Cirus

by CandS

We visited Piccadilly Circus one day during our first visit to London also...it was exactly like we had seen in many photos... Huge amounts of neon signs all over the place and bus streets. It was great to see it...although we didn't stay long...

So much to see and do.

by A2002

There are so much to see and do in London. I have been there so many times and I am not tired of it.
There are beautiful monuments and architectures, numerous museums, theatres, interesting pubs to check out, wide variety of restaurants and food, and of course lotsa shopping. :-) There are many tourists around London, as well as, people from all over the world working in London. The rich, the middle, and the poor, all-in-one in London.

4.00 PM - It's tea time!

by Umea6

Who hasn't heard of afternoon tea? But, have you experienced it yet? I bet not, but a defenite MUST while in London.
I would recommend to choose one of the splendid hotles, like the RITZ, SAVOY, HILTON ... But bare in mind, that most of there fancy hotels have a dressing policy, so dress up and enjoy sipping the tea with some sweet delights. Don't break the porcelain, it won't be cheap :)
