Quite a comfortable place

Good hotel by my standards. 94 pounds per day, though on the expensive side but keeping the connectivity factor in mind was a wonderful place to put up. Also, the staff was quite wonderful at the reception and restaurant. They heplmed me with excellent practical advice.

Especially Jacob at reception as I remember and also Kuldeep. I also remember a very sweet lady who gave me precise advice for reaching Cambridhe. Would really like to thank her. Facilities good.

Unique Quality: I was quite happy with the connectivity. Euston Station at left and Kings Cross on right, what more could one want. The place became like my second home. From Euston I also went to Windermere and from Kings Cross, I went to Liverpool to go to Cambridge.

Premier travel Inns

Premier travel Inns have a couple of first rate London places including the one that featured in the film Mission Impossible. The Premier Travel Inn in Southwark backs on to the riverside Anchor pub, where Tom Cruise and Ving Rhames drink a pint at the end of the movie.

Anway check out there website for lots of hotels across the country.

70.00 a night, but the price is for the room so you can have 4 in a room.

Unique Quality: They are cheap and the rooms are comfortable well kept and the price is for the room not per person. They are all within good areas of sightseeing

Good budget hotel chains

by angiebabe about Travelodge, Premier Inn, Formula 1

A couple of good hotel chains that are handy to get to and are lower prices the earlier you prebook are www.premierinn.com which can be as low as £29-£39 and www.travelodge.co.uk as low as £19 - both have hotels around London - Premier Inn that I have seen on my travels are on North End Road, Fulham and Colliers Wood - both have tube/underground stations nearby and buses that go nearby such as the 28 and the131 and 219 from Clapham Junction

Theres a handy Travelodge in Battersea near York road the 44 bus from Victoria station that goes on to Wandsworth and Tooting Broadway stops right outside it.

Formula 1 are budget hotels that are designed really to drive to - near freeways or main roads with unlimited opening hours due to ATM type card machines for payment and codes for access.

Maybe the Best Choice in London!

The Premier Travel Inn London - King's Cross may be one of the best kept secrets in central London. The rooms are cheap and clean and the location can't be beat for the price.

The hotel was recently renovated, and the updates are a welcome change in London. The lobby is a modern, bright, 5-story atrium with plenty of room to sit and chat or have a drink. There is a restaurant/pub in the first floor across from reception. The rooms are quite large; nearly the size of an American hotel room. The beds were large, the linens were clean, and the bathrooms had been updated, too.

The location of this Premier Travel Inn can't be beat. It is a two minute walk to King's Cross - St. Pancras station in London; a major transport hub. Six Underground lines meet at King's Cross, so it is possible to get anywhere in central London very quickly. There are plenty of take-away restaurants and casual eateries in the area, and there's even a Tesco supermarket down the street if you want to buy your own groceries.

The Premier Travel Inn may be a chain in the UK, but it's a clean, reliable one. It is closely comparable to a Hampton Inn in the US, but with more modern finishes. I spent 75 pounds on a room during the weekend, which is a steal in London. For the price, the Premier Travel Inn - King's Cross is a far better deal than any of those five star places on Park Lane.

Excellent service

by TripAdvisor Member sibbs

Good location being so close to Kings Cross station & only a short distance from Euston. Staff are very friendly & helpful, the hotel is modern & clean & the rooms are large with king size beds. Don't be put off that it is a Premier Travel Inn the standard & facilities are excellent.

Central but Loud & Noisy

by TripAdvisor Member N0rtherner

I stayed here a couple of years ago and managed to get a very good deal through the hotels website. I think I paid £47.00 for a double room, no breakfast.

The Hotel was barely 5 minutes walk from Kings Cross main station and was very easy to find. It didn't look like your average Premier Travel Inn from the outside as I think it was in an old listed building but once inside and in our room it met our expectations.

Room was modern, of a good size and bathroom was good with the power shower.

BUT... we were in a room overlooking a railway platform. I think it was St Pancras but I'm not sure as St Pancras is further away than Kings Cross main station. We didn't get back till late but the tanoy was still blaring out train information and we were woken by the trains and tanoy about 5am.

Needles to say I couldn't wait to get back home for some sleep!

Excellent Experience !

I travel a lot with work and have stayed in many hotel chains but never a premier travel inn and if im honest I always thought of it as a basic hotel chain. I was completely taken aback with the quality and standard of this hotel considering the price!! In all honesty I was forced to book into this hotel for a mid week trip to London because everywhere appeared to be full and I can honestly say after this trip I will always stay at this particular hotel when visiting London.

The room was incredibly spacious, the bed was enormous and so comfortable. The check out was 12pm which was incredibly convenient and the breakfast was fantastic for only £7.50 considering I usually pay around £14 in a Novotel and it was exactly the same if not better! The location could not have been better, you literally fall out of the hotel into Kings Cross station. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly and they offer a good night guarantee which they informed me means that if at any time through the night you are not happy with your room they will move you. The only downfall is the parking as there is an NCP but dont be fooled by a 'short walk' it is quite far considering the busy roads you have to cross. Although this did not ruin my stay and I will definetly be staying again.

GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY!! WOULD RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!! AND WILL DEFINETLY STAY THERE AGAIN.

Hotel accomodation by Kings Cross

by CaGal

We found a hotel next to the Kings Cross tube which is costing about $300 a night. Any suggestions about any other accomodations that would cost less around the same area or closer to Covent Garden area?

Re: Hotel accomodation by Kings Cross

Gosh. You should be able to find something for les than 150GBP per night!

Well, I'm staying in one in August (for a VT meet) which is considerably less.

Have a look at www.booking.com

http://www.booking.com/landmark/gb/king-s-cross-st-pancras.html?aid=303948;label=landmark-king-s-cross-st-pancras-gb-zhJyRBUDmIwVXjezHlBWEAS903493821;ws=&gclid=COmnz_jWs5QCFQGfHgodTTwDUQ

is the link for hotels within 1 mile of Kings Cross.

Also look at the accomodation pages on the official tourist info site:

http://www.visitlondon.com/accommodation/

I'm staying at:

http://www.eurohotel.co.uk/

Haven't been there yet, obviously, but the booking.com reviews are ok.

forgot to mention we are a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 kids, looking for a family room....my options are somewhat limited here.

Try the Travelodge budget hotel on Drury Lane.

Re: Hotel accomodation by Kings Cross

Yes, that does make a difference.

But you can search the visitlondon site by room type, which will at least give you options (there won't be anything worthwhile not listed on that site).

Travelodges are a possibility: not luxurious, but perfectly ok. They are listed on the visitlondon site. When I seacrhed this morning the Covent Garden one is offering family rooms for 79GBP per night in August.

Re: Hotel accomodation by Kings Cross

Travelodge and Premier Inn have family rooms and one at least has a hotel at King's Cross. The cost is per rooim per night. I don't know when you are going to London but recently when I was scouting around for hotels in London, I saw that the Travelodge at King's Cross had rooms for £29/night on certain dates in August. The £19 and £29 a night rooms are on offer throughout the year - it just depends if the dates offered are convenient to you. In any case, I think a regular price for a room is £80/night at the King's Cross one, which is way better than £150 per night.

Family rooms capable of having 2 adults and 2 children are commonplace around Kings Cross Station for $200 or less.
For chain hotels try Premier Inn Kings Cross, Premier Inn Euston, Comfort Inn

There are some simple Bed & Breakfasts that do family rooms too, cheaper.
Try Montana Excel, California, Crestfield & Meridiana Hotels

There is a hotel map with all these at: www.londontoolkit.com/accommodation/kings_cross_st_pancras_hotel_map.htm
