Regency House Hotel
For a brand new room in the 'apartments' which used to be the house of the managers and they had it changed into rooms, you'd pay about 60 pounds per night for the room and breakfast, not per person. For an older, yet still lovely room in the main part of the hotel, you'd pay about 30 pounds for a single room, and 50 pounds for a double room, with brekky, not per person. These prices are MUCH cheaper than the other hotels in Bury, yet the accomodation here is much nicer and cleaner. Well, I HAD to say this place as it's where I lived and worked while in Bury!!! It's a small (24 rooms or so) family run hotel. Very personable, private, smack bang in the centre of town, great food (EXCELLENT desserts!!) and of course the staff are sensational!! Ha!! The hotel was originally built around the 1600s and was the house of the local doctor. It was then changed into a Gentleman's Club...whatever that may be...and now the hotel for about 60 years or so. I saw the deeds for the building from the 1600s and it was amazing. All perfectly handwritten, and the hotel was sold for about 100 pounds!! Amazing!!
