St James

Where in Westminster Abbey is there a statue of St James the Great(er)

Re: St James

by leics

There are umpteen statues of saints (and others) in the Abbey. I'm afraid I cannot recall any specific saint or placement from my last visit.

Why not email them and ask if they have a statue of St James the Greater and, if so, whereabouts in the Abbey it is?

Travel Tips for London

Mayfair

by arabiantravels2u

My favorite thing about London is all the Nice places to eat. I have always wanted to learn how to cook like a chef. So I love going out to various place trying there foods & wines My fondest memory is seeing my girlfriend enjoying playing with her Yorkshire Terrior named Millie in the park.

The Changing of the Guard

by basbed23

There is a fountain in front of Buckingham Palace that faces the courtyard. If you have a chance, you should stand at the top of the stairs to watch the ceremony. This allows you to see the entire ceremony and at the end, the soldiers march right in front of you.

The Globe Pub

by ratherton

The Globe pub is right opposite Baker Street tube station on the Bakerloo underground line. Back in the days of Wembley Stadium, it was always a popular ‘watering hole’ en-route from the centre of London to the stadium. When the new 90,000 seat Wembley re-opens in 2006, I’m sure the pub will be as popular as ever.

London is a bustling...

London is a bustling cosmopolitan capital with much to see and do. It is important not to be intimidated by people who look and behave differently to you. Celebrate the diversity! Meeting and getting to know people you would not see in your normal environment. I met these guys one Sunday afternoon at a venue called The Church. Don't judge a book by the cover!

Royalty

by alycat

The royalty are a paragon of popularity. The seniors have managed to keep busy, with even junior members of the family trekking off to distant reaches of the globe to represent the Queen.

Europe has 10 reigning monarchs - a clutch of Kings, Queens, Princes and Grand Duke. Failed marriages and relentless tabloid scrutiny have eroded popular regard for the British royal family, but according to a recent poll, 70% of Britons still prefer a monarchy to a republic. As Elizabeth marks the golden anniversary of her reign, there may be decidedly less enthusiasm for British royalty than 50 years ago. But the important fact is that both monarch and monarchy have endured a lot to the public. Even foreign visitors to UK, where the british had ruled love to watch the royalty, thier palaces and museums and are still enamoured.

This snap of Prince William and Charles is taken at the Queen Mother's funeral. Log on to the official website for British Royalty for exquisite details, but not the tabloid stuff u naughty!!!
