My buddy and I spent a week in London, and stayed in 2 different hostels. St. Christophers Inn was great - really roomy, and its own bathroom/shower accomodations connected to the room. It was like 24 pounds a night I think, cheaper if you book it online. This is waaaay better than other hostels I have stayed in. Everything is connected with a keycard, so its very safe.
Camden is fun, young, and a little alternative. There is a pub connected to the hostel rooms, so its an obvious place to meet other travelers and get a cheap pint. I'd definitely recommend St. Christopher's to any travelers going to London looking for fun, cheap accomodations.
Directions: 4 blocks from the Camden Town tube stop, on the corner of High Camden Street
This is the worst place in standard I have stayed at in London.
The hostel is very well placed, close to the most central places, although you have both shopping and eating alternatives in the local area.
The hostel itself is a crappy hostel, with an ok staff. The bar downstairs is open till late. The rooms are very small, the bathrooms dirty, but clean bedlinen. Never tried the breakfast, and never felt for trying it either.
It`s cheap, central and ok for budget travellers. I will not stay here again, but the upsides I have listed makes it ok.
Unique Quality: Central
Cheap
Directions: You can use both Camden town station and Morningtion Crescent. 3min walk.
