I have stayed here on two occasions, and it is a great deal for a single room, about average for a double. It is clean, with a helpful staff and could not be in a more convenient spot, directly across the street from The Savoy, at the Waterloo Bridge.
Unique Quality: I was most surprised by the pleasant service in the pub in the hotel and also the Mask Bar in the lobby. After having drinks the night I arrived I discovered that the bartender had cashed out before I paid. When I pointed it out to him he said he assumed I was staying at the hotel and I could pay him anytime before I checked out. He didn't even ask for my room number. Having never been to London before, and traveling alone, I found it such a welcome, especially in a large hotel.
Unique Quality: It is a very nice hotel and we had a beautifull room there. But I think it was pretty expensive. Luckily we didn't have to pay ourselves as my boss treated us to a weekend London.
Does anyone know if the rooms at the Strand Palace are airconditioned? We will be there in late July and are hot natured people. Please respond.
Some of the rooms are air conditioned and some of the rooms aren't. If last summer is anything to go by you will need a room with air conditioning....may be best to try and get them to guarantee you a room now?
Can we get two hot summers in a row, I doubt it?
Not in England we can't! lol
