by tizfabius I discovered the Sydney House years ago when I was living and work in the north of the country, and my company sent me to London regularly. Sick of the huge, impersonal chains a friend suggested thie place. Its prices are mid-range for London (about 200 pounds a night) but it's a 19th century house and each room is individual and cosy. The service is utterly delightful and discreet (the hotel seems to be staffed by gorgeous Swiss men!) and you'll feel more like you're staying in someone's beautiful house.
