The Lodge

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)

The Lodge was the best hostel I stayed at in London. It was near Paddington Station and plenty of restaurants. The Lodge does not accept credit cards - cash only.

You can get a double, 4-bed, or 6-bed room. Weekly rates are available. Check online for rates and booking.

Unique Quality: Our room had a sink and shower in it with a toilet down the hall (some rooms have no shower but there is one on every floor). Rooms were clean and recently renovated. There is plenty of space and a fridge in each room. Some rooms have TVs. Linens are provided. Towels are not. There is no curfew.

The only problem was that the front desk closed at 6:30pm, but since we were in a bind, they offered to let us in as long as we arrived before 10:30pm. Also, it seemed as if there was no hot water in the shower. I don't know if it was a shower or a complimentary ice machine. I turned blue after 2 min.

Directions: Around the corner from Paddington Station. Exit onto Praed Street, walk up London Street, turn on the 2nd road to the left ‘Norfolk Square'.
