I needed a quick place to stay on a layover home, just 1 night, and the Hotel Desk at Heathrow booked me here. The location is good, seems a lot of hotels are in this area (Bayswater/Queensway) near Hyde Park.
The bathroom was very very nice and quite comparable to Americana Standards. I would say the bathroom was the highlite of this accomodation. Granite, marble, well lit, new and probably an entire 40 sq. feet. I am not a fan of flowerd decor and actually have a low tolerance to it... so the bedding was not to my taste.
The room had a nice window, but overall there was a smell in the room that I could not air-out. The linens were nice and clean.
Unique Quality: There is a non-staffed instant coffee bar in the lobby, rather un-impressive. They do have wireless internet access, but I hate traveling with the bulk of a laptop (hey, for that weight it could be at least 2 pair of shoes!) They do have one computer in the basement that is coin operated to the internet and quite possibly dial-up - slow - but beggers can't be choosers, it worked.
Well located and close to Queesway and Bayswater Tube Station. Just 3 blocks away you can get lots of shops and restaurants.
Directions: Hyde Park - Close to Queensway and Bayswater Tube Stations. 6 pound taxi ride from Paddington Station
Troy Hotel is a 3 star hotel and it is situated in a quiet terrace street, close to Hyde Park and Bayswater. My mom and I stayed there a few times and always have a good memory about our stay. The bathrooms are quiet big and clean, not common for London's hotels!!
Directions: Get off either at Bayswater or Queensway tube stations
