West 2 Hostel

CHEAP, GOOD LOCATION, CIRCLE LINE HOSTEL

I stayed here in June 2008.
I've traveled quite a bit, but I was still unsure what to expect when I paid £6 a night for a 4 bed dorm in LONDON, on the CIRCLE LINE! (Cheapest rates are £4.50 a night, 8 bed)
I was surprised at how easy it was to find. Leaving the tube at Bayswater, and wondering down the main street and taking a left to Kensington Gardens. (5mins walk. MAX)

The hostel is located on a pretty posh street.
On entry, the staff were helpful and recited the local information they're paid to pass on. I was then informed of the breakfast times and where anything I might need is.

MY STAY--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I was in a 4 bed dorm with a wash basin (useful to wake yourself up in the morning without waking guests by leaving the room)
The room was clean, the sheets were spotless. I was impressed.

The bathroom could do with some work to it (damaged door) but it was clean enough and the shower was warm.

The bunks were sturdy and not too loud.

Location:
Located in Bayswater. Take the Bayswater stop on the Circle Line.

The Area:
I found it to be VERY safe, the streets are ALWAYS busy so there is no need to worry about getting in late and walking down a dark street.

Conclusion:
I would stay here again, it's the cheapest hostel i've stayed in whilst in the UK.
It has received some negative press, but you have to look at the price. It's cheap, the location can't be beaten, it's pretty clean. You're staying at a hostel not a hotel!

The hostel is on par with £17-25 a night hostels in London.

Unique Quality: Cheap, LOCATION!
