I'm going to an Iron Maiden concert at Twickenham stadium next July and am not sure about the best way to get there. I would prefer not to stay overnight so will need a mode of transport that departs after 10pm on the way back. I would be gratful if you had any advice on the subject
There's a last train to Nottingham from St Pancras at 23:15 (there is one at 23:30, but it takes nearly 7 hours!), and a last coach from London Victoria at 23:30 so either method is potentially feasible.

Timetables are not up for July, but are unlikely to change much.

will tell you how to get from central London to Twickenham., but it is very tight and somewhat complicated....they estimate around an hour and a half.
Perhaps best to factor in an overnight stay after all, or budget for a taxi?
I agree with Leics - if you do want to risk this there is a very good way of saving time on your journey in to London from Twickenham. Most people would take a Twickenham to Waterloo train and then the tube to Kings Cross/St Pancras but to save time get off the South West Trains train at Vauxhall and then take the Victoria Line north bound to Kings Cross/St Pancras. You would have to look on the South West Trains website (www.southwesttrains.couk) to see if Twickenham line trains stop at Vauxhall. If not change at Clapham Junction.

During your visit to Twickenham, make sure you arrive early, when they will still allow you to go sit in the area that is generally reserved for the Queen. It clearly is the best vantage point in the stadium, and it is nice to pretend you are royalty!
Most of all, have fun and enjoy a match of rugby here!
Twickenham is the home of English rugby,fantastic stadium set in a suburb of london..
We went to watch Newcastle falcons beat the sale sharks in the Powergen cup final,tickets for the international matches are very difficult to come across,more chance of finding Osama bin Laden....
It was a very close match with Newcastle eventually winning 37 points to 33,all supporters mixed together and a marvellous time was had by all.
This is the trophy cabinet in the Museum,among them are The Cook Cup and of course The Webb Ellis Trophy,( The World cup) to you and I.
The museum is well worth a visit.
As you can see,Twickenham is right on the flightpath for Heathrow,bit annoying for the locals .
