Good One For Bolton

This hotel is known as the Ramada/Jarvis in Blackrod, Bolton.
We stayed in room 657 (end of May/early June 2011) which was really excellent, very spacious, nice large bathroom with a proper bath. The hotel backs onto open countryside and is in pleasant surroundings, well cared for. Very large car park.
The staff were very friendly and the food (breakfast and dinner) was very good indeed.
Excellent leisure facilities were available, seen but not tried.
The only slight negative was the bar. Draft lager ran out as did other supplies and there were often long waits to get served - sometimes there were no staff present behind the bar. We were short changed once and offered glasses less than full on one occasion. Several different members of staff worked in the bar, leading to confusion and lack of knowledge. This situation could be corrected with a proper bar manager.

Unique Quality: The view out of our room window was across open countryside to The Pennines, very nice.
Excellent leisure facilities were available.
