Crowne Plaza: My Favorite

by jetwind

A gorgous hotel very modern and lots of natural light. All rooms come complete with plaza screen tv's mini bars and en-suites with seperate bath and shower. The bar is a great place to start or end your evening and the breakfasts are fabulous. I found the service from the staff to be excellant and my overall experence was a good one.
The hotel backs on to the Northern Quarter which has become Manchester's latest hotspot and some hip and trendy bars and resturaunts.

Park Inn: A good base

by jetwind

The hotel is located close to Manchester Victoria Rail Station and is not too far away from the Hip and Trendy Northern Quarter.

Travelodge Manchester Central: Great location, slipping standard

by jhorsfield30

I've been staying in travel-lodge's for quite a while, so upon arrival and having stayed b4 it was as usual,
However, I arrived with some friends and they had booked a family room and were given a double room with windows which didn't lock properly.
My room was as described and quite spacious, however, the shower didn't work, the bath was dirty, the remote didn't work and various parts of the room were dirty,
I reported these issues at reception on check out, as I didn't see it as a major problem. All other areas were fine, security was good, and car park cost £7.50 for the 24 hour period.
However, the receptionist simply wrote one word down and apologised and stated a conversation would be had with the cleaning staff.
I was quite surprised, and I did hear of others complaining about showers and cleanliness during my stay, I hope they increase their awareness for the next time,

Central location, rooms quite spacious

IBIS Manchester central: clean and central hotel

by jhorsfield30

Booked as a last minute for £49, through accorhotels.com. This was the usual fare from ibis, smaller than most i've stayed in,, the shower was nice and bathroom/toilet split as from a french design hotel.
Its just up the road from chinatown and across the way from the novotel, which you can use their gym is you are staying at the ibis,, according to reception..
Room was a little warm when I stayed, everything worked fine,,

Location, quiet on the top floors, friendly staff, no fuss

City Stop Apartments Manchester: Nice apartments for a nice price, location great

by jhorsfield30

These luxury apartments are located in the heart of the city centre, opposite the Printworks and adjacent to the Arndale Shopping Centre.
The one I stayed in, a typical 1 bed, has 3 rooms, bedroom, bathroom(shower + bath) and kitchen/lounge/dining room, the kitchen came with a welcome pack(orange juice, bread and jams, milk/tea/coffee.)
It commands a nice view of the printworks and the night lights from the centre are a plus for me, Nice staff, and dvd player/freeview/tv ensure you'll have a nice pad for your stay.

Location, views, good rates.

City Inn Contempory Hotels Manchester: Right by travel links, unique selling point

by jhorsfield30

This hotel, has excellent discounted rates on the weekend, from £59.. I had this offer including breakfast and free use of the onsite gym, it is right opposite piccadilli station, and not far from the coach station, it commands a nice view of the station.
This hotel range has a unique point, in all rooms are a imac, which is available for free internet use, and a range of dvd's from reception to use on the machines.. a nice idea.
Also, the room has the usual, double bed, wardrobe, tea/coffee facilities, a charged bar, free wifi through the lobby and a nice bathroom, with a power shower,
Staff were friendly and curteous, the breakfast was nice but a simple far with cereals and toast, and the option to order off a menu, a la carte.
A nice hotel for a discount rate.

Location, discounted rates on the weekend, I-Mac computer with free internet use + dvd player.

Novotel Manchester: Great location, swanky hotel

by jhorsfield30

This is my first stay at the accorhotels Novotel Range, I was hoping for a comparison against the ibis which is directly opposite this hotel in Manchester Central City,
Upon arrival, very friendly staff, and booked a special rate on the web, against the £150 walk in fee. Rooms spacious and clean, very similar to the ibis style, apart from a separate toilet and combi shower/bath system,
There is a excellent sauna/fitness gym on the top floor, a very relaxing addition.
Right next to china town, its a simple 2 mins walk to a excellent range of local shops and bars..

Fitness/Sauna for guests, or a £5 charge for ibis residents.
Location,, good breakfast, very professional staff

Great Location: Novotel City Centre

by jetwind

Located on Dixon Street which is just off Portland Street. The Hotel is ideally placed for visiting China Town and the famious palace theatre is also close by with other tourist areas within easy walking distance.

The rooms are modern and have a separate toilet and bathroom, which is a nice touch and a speaker, is fitted into the bathroom which is linked to the TV. The room is not most spacious I’ve had but liveable no less. The hotel rates as 3 star and are worth its ratings.

Deansgate Locks: Premier Travel Inn

by jetwind

Located just off Albion way near Deansgate locks, this Motel offers a great ambiance and a great location. Situated off the Mancunian Way and with in walking distance.

The Motel has a large number of rooms and nice breakfast. The showers are great and the beds are comfortable. They cater well for disable guests and all disabled rooms are located on the ground floor.

The cost is just £58.00 per room per night and breakfast is £7.50pp for all you can eat

Travellodge: Its Cheap

by jetwind

Manchester has a large number of hotels in the city centre with prices starting around GBP70.00 per room per night. The Travel Lodge is ideal has they start at around GBP45.00 per room per night and have regular offers as half price rooms. The hotel is ideal loaction for the major shopping and entertaiments that manchester has to offer.
The hotel has a small bar, Restaruant and a free cark park, although this is quite small. The rooms are all centrally heated with double glazed windows to shut out the noise ofthe city. My room was large by city standards and came equipt with tea and coffee making facilities and a TV, however there was a charge to watch this.
The hotel recently under went a renovation and its a property that Iwouldchoose again.
