More about City Stop Serviced Apartments Manchester

Nice apartments for a nice price, location great

by jhorsfield30 about City Stop Apartments Manchester

These luxury apartments are located in the heart of the city centre, opposite the Printworks and adjacent to the Arndale Shopping Centre.
The one I stayed in, a typical 1 bed, has 3 rooms, bedroom, bathroom(shower + bath) and kitchen/lounge/dining room, the kitchen came with a welcome pack(orange juice, bread and jams, milk/tea/coffee.)
It commands a nice view of the printworks and the night lights from the centre are a plus for me, Nice staff, and dvd player/freeview/tv ensure you'll have a nice pad for your stay. Location, views, good rates.

Best restaurant in Manchester?

by mejlmi

More questions for my group of 24...

Which restaurant is the best? We would like to have a dinner with more than 3 courses. I have got suggestions of "pre theatre" set menus but we would like more than that...

Thanks!

Travel Tips for Manchester

Manchester Christmas Markets

by Balam

Over the last few years Manchester has hosted Christmas Markets consisting of Stalls set out in various locations around the city. Now widely considered to be amongst the best in Europe they are a great place to get in the festive mood. Take in the aroma of Roasting Chestnuts, Sample some Mulled Wine. You can browse the handcrafted wares from jewellery to wooden toys and some weird and wonderful gift ideas.

If you’re hungry grab a warm Glüwein and continental sausage maybe paella or try some Turkish food, Hot dog or burgers there will be a great range of delicious festive food.

There is a VT meet ( We have just had the 3rd annual Christmas Markets Meet) organised by VTer Gillybob on November 28 2009.
It was a really really great day of not only shopping but some drinking and eating as well. (and some more drinking).
I can't wait till next Years !!

Trinity Bridge

by Djinn76

This footbridge from famous architect Santiago Calatrava doesn't seem to receive lots of focus...
...I've put this tip in the off-the-beaten-path category because you really have to know what you are looking for to reach the bridge!
When I visited Manchester in July 2010 this 15 year old bridge was closed due to some ongoing work!! I don't have much more info about that but it looks quite disappointing such a new bridge is already in need of attention!

Check out the magnificent...

by Nobbe

Check out the magnificent Chinese Arch, standing proudly over Faulkner Street, proclaims the important place Chinatown has become in Manchester. The arch is painted in red and gold and adorned with dragons and phoenixes, colours and symbols of luck and prosperity. The arch, the first true Imperial Chinese arch erected in Europe, looks as though it might have stood for a hundred years. Yet the arch has been here merely since 1987 and Chinatown is still less than thirty years old.

Alterations and Repairs in 1 hour

by janiebaxter about Stitches

Stitches specialise in fast, good quality clothing alterations and repairs. They have been open about a year and in that time have got so busy they had to move down the road to a bigger shop.
The reason they are so successful is that they do a good quality job at a reasonable price and you can collect the same day if you need to - even in 1 hour. Some of the top designer shops in Manchester use them for their customer alterations too.
There are changing rooms if you need to put something on to be pinned or you can just drop them off already pinned. Staff are brisk and efficient and there are drop off and pick up points to save waiting time.
Very useful to have a place like this in the city centre! £8 for a pair of trousers shortened.
