More about Jurys Inn Manchester
Good hotel, friendly staff
by TripAdvisor Member zcrookes
Had a great stay at the Jury's Inn - some of the reviews here are very unfair! My room was very big and well presented, with a bigger bathroom than most hotels and good facilities (internet connection etc). Very friendly and helpful staff. My only complaint is breakfast, which is a total rip off at £10! It's very bog standard too (tinned fruit, anyone?) so just skip it and go to a cafe/deli instead.
But a very pleasant and enjoyable stay.

Excellent stay
I travel to Manchester alot and have stayed in many hotels. Recently stayed at Jurys after a terrible night at the IBIS on Portland street.
What a difference. Jurys is Clean (almost spotless in fact), comfortable, very central for getting around town, on a reasonably quiet street , just off the main bit.
Staff are so helpful and interested in looking after the guest (unlike the ibis)
Rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean (i keep thinking how clean they were - my experience at the ibis made me hyper clean freak)
All in all - great value for money and a great hotel
Stay here if you can at all !!!!
Okay hotel, terrible breakfast
by TripAdvisor Member hcw2
Stayed in this hotel with a couple of friends. The rooms were fine, big enough and the en-suites were quite a decent size with a reasonable shower (although one of us only had a bath). But the breakfast! The food, once we had got it, was fine but the whole business of getting the food was like a rugby scrum. The restaurant is very small with quite limited seating. You need very sharp elbows to get the food buffet - first there were no plates, then no knives, then no eggs, then no milk for the tea, then no marmalade for the toast, but there was no toast anyway. Finally there were no tables, so we had to go into the bar - cue rolled eyes from the manager. Not a relaxing way to start the day at all. However, the rest of the stay was fine, staff quite helpful.
Overpriced!

From the outside this hotel looks rather posh - maybe worth the money...
However, our room was for three people and they only had put 1 towel in the room. It took reception staff well over an hour to bring up more.
Our room stunk of smoke, despite the fact that it was a non smoking room.
The bath looked really dirty - I dreaded standing in it for a shower.
Also the guy on reception was extremely rude. I asked him to call me a cab and when I told him where I was going, he snapped that it was only ten minutes away!
Was not worth the money and I certainly wouldn't recommend staying there unless you were pushed for choice (like we were)
Great location for Palace Theatre
by TripAdvisor Member SARA43
Perfectly acceptable hotel in a great location for Bridgewater Hall (opposite hotel), GMex (across the road) and Palace Theatre (5 minutes walk). About 10 minutes to City Centre for shopping and near to tram stop.
Room was clean and comfortable. Only quibble was that the shower was a bit temperamental. The rooms are quite small but perfectly acceptable. Similar in standard to Novotel.
You cannot get food in the hotel after 9.30pm but this was made clear at check in. Parking for the hotel is across the road in the GMex carpark - very convienient and you get a 40% discount on the fee (we paid £9 for overnight stay). Breakfast was fine (about £10 per person).
Pleasant overnight stay.
Good 3 star Hotel

Booked this hotel purley as it was opposite to the GMEX where I was attending a concert.
The reception area is quite impressive and gives you the impression that the hotel is maybe more than a 3 star. The staff were helpful and friendly.
My room was on the first floor, which was fine, I had asked for a lower floor room as I was on my own, and it felt safer.
The room was a double with a single bed also. It was of adequate size, and very clean and tidy.
My only gripes were that there was no remote for the TV, and SKY Sports News and SKY News were missing.
In the bathroom there was a distinct lack of soap, shower gel, shampoo and bubble bath. They only had two dispensers of some cream soap hanging from the wall.
Also the walls were quite thin, and the doors slammed shut as opposed to quietly closing...this was a bit of a nuisance at 3.00am in the morning when people were returning from Christmas parties.
I did not eat in the restaurant or drink in the bar.
Anyway, all in all a very adequate hotel, at a reasonable price - £60.00 room only for the night.
