From Chorlton Street Coach Station, walk to London Road and pick up the 203 or 201 which will take you along Hyde road, there is a stop at Birch Street. The journey should take 18 minutes according to the time table.
*London Road/Fairfield Street(Stop A)
Service Number: 203 or 201
Provider: Stagecoach Manchester

Travel Tips for Manchester
Science Museum - Air and Space
by sandysmith
The museums 5 main areas are:
1. Main Building - special exhibition gallery here plus Science Discoveries and Textile Trade collections
2. 1830 Warehouse - the world's oldest building. Electic Gallery here was interesting.
3. Station Building
4. Power Hall
5.Air and Space Hall The coach halls make marvellous spaces for the huge transport exhibits. Here flight transport of all types and models can be seen - there are gallery exhbits above the main hall too which gives a good oversight of the exhibits.
Things to pack for Manchester Chrismas Markets
by suvanki
A strong shopping bag or 2! Comfy shoes! Thermals!!
A Warm coat/ scarf/ hat/ gloves - it gets quite cold, but once you've had a mulled wine, you'll be a bit warmer! Layers of thin clothing, so you don't overheat in the pubs/shops etc.
Manchester isn't a stranger to rain - so a waterproof hooded jacket. I wouldn't advise bringing an Umbrella to the markets- they can get quite crowded at times.
Jacket or trousers with zipped pockets etc- to keep money safe- Pick pockets favour crowds, especially those with distractions such as market stalls, where people will be occupied with looking at the goods on sale, and may put down purses/wallets etc. Lip salve/moisturiser etc. Tissues - Plenty of photo ops - Colourful stalls and characters! Especially photogenic at night.
There are plenty of photographic shops/ Argos etc to restock with SD cards/ batteries etc. Credit cards/ cash- it's not easy to resist the goods on sale- and after a mulled wine or 2 it's even more difficult to resist! ATMs/banks around the city centre
Bubble wrap for those fragile items.
Wet wipes/ hand gel for cleaning hands before/after eating from the stalls
LINCOLN STATUE
by Andrew_Liu
Walking not far from St.Peter’s square, there is a tidy and fresh green place – Lincoln Square. A statue of Lincoln stand here. A letter of thanks to Manchester worker wrote by Lincoln carved on one side of base. It is for contribution of Manchester workers in period of North South War of America.
Quarry Bank Mill and Styal Estate
by Chamsa
Quarry Bank Mill is a wonderful monument of the Industrial Revolution and means fun for the whole family! It's comprises a Georgian working water-powered cotton mill, a museum about the cotton industry with a lot of noisy machines, the Apprentice House and much more. It's located in a nice valley.
Designer Bargains
by janiebaxter about TK Maxx
TK Maxx is a global store selling massively discounted designer clothes, end of ranges and clearance bargains. There are many stores in the UK and Manchester has at least 5.
They are always worth a look as you never know what you may find here. Being American, sizes go up to extremely large and as well as women's clothes they sell men's, children's, outdoor, sports and bags and shoes.
Quality really varies - you have to spend quite a bit of time looking through but can find top quality designer wear very cheap mixed in with the lower quality stuff. For travelling I always manage to get some good quality linen shirts extremely cheap, and cashmere sweaters at very reasonable prices.
Sometimes they have luggage. Linen shirts from £7, cashmere sweaters from £40.
