Many famous people were born in Basingstoke
"My hometown"
Basingstoke is officially the most boring town in Britain, with nothing to do except drink, fight, take drugs and drive around the roundabouts. Or all at the same time. The surrounding countryside is full of nice little villages, but Basingstoke is slowly creeping outwards like a greedy grey octopus. Every 5 years they give it a facelift to make people think they´re living somewhere else. If you´re there, be sure to check out the Mr.Munch cafe for a real freakshow.
"The Wote Street Willy"
Basingstoke is in the south-east so it´s rich. So rich in fact that the council frequently spends money on ´art´ to inspire the local population. I wonder why no-one said anything when they saw the first sketches.

"Nowhere more epitomised the real morality of Thatchers age than Basingstoke, Hampshire. A squalid, ugly, uncomfortable place, an intolerant, racist, homophobic, narrow-minded, authoritarian rat-hole, run by vicious, suburban-minded materialistic philistines. A spiritual and moral emptiness of a way of life based on greed and rampant egomania. Care has no place and tolerance is regarded as a dangerous weakness."
Dr Tony Webster, of NATFHE.
"Miz Hurley"
Yes, she is from Basingstoke and she went to MY school and MY college. She used to play with my friend Keith´s sister, in Kempshott.
Also from Basingstoke: Nick Moran, Tanita Tikaram, Carl Barat.
