The spiritual home of Brazilian football
by iwys
Charles Miller, the man who first introduced football to Brazil at the end of the nineteenth century, came from Southampton Football Club. You can see the club Miller played for at St. Mary's Stadium. Another player from that era, C.B. Fry, who played for Southampton in the 1902 FA Cup Final, was capped for England at Football and Cricket, held the world long jump record and when he became a delegate at the League of Nations, was offered the throne of Albania!

"On the south coast"
It's not a bad place to visit. Ok so not the most exciting place and if you're visiting the UK you'll probably be wanting to go (quite rightly) to other places. If however you're down south then it's worth a visit. There are a few museums, medieval walls and shopping is quite good. Restuarants are fairly good (well the choice is anyway) but nightlife, er, well there's better nightlife in my attic!! You might end up here to get a ferry/cruise ship or a prospective student (we have two unis). So I'll give you the low down...
SOUTHAMPTON

I was in Southampton from 02 February 2004 till 04 February 2004. I had a jobinterview here (didn't got the job).
On Tuesday afternoon I had some time left. I went to the shopping centre called "West Quay".
