We were told that black squirrels are fairly rare in the UK and that we probably wouldn't see one but we came across this little guy while at the Hitchin Church. I just loved the squirrels in London and New York City so it was cool to see a little black one in Hitchin...
Alot of people enjoy travelling to big cities, which definitely have alot of appeal, but sometimes it is fun to just go into a random part of the country away from the urban sprawl.
Hitchin definitely fits this bill, as there is not alot to do in the town... but that does not mean it is not a place to see. I really enjoyed the peaceful scenery, and the friendly people!
Hitchin is an average ish sized town in the south east of england. Its pretty near London (about half an hour on the train), Peterborough and Cambridge. Its quite a nice place to live - not so small theres nothing here, but not so big its hard to navigate or just so its generally too busy. Though theres not very much to say about it, it has everything you really need.
