BLAKES HOTEL: Quietly, Discretely, Romantically different

One of London's great "boutique hotels" offering differently themed rooms from sunken water beds to hanging beds, from colonial style to contemporary. It is the sort of place I would recommend to those that are planning that little extra special trip or hate being in another "Holiday Inn" and not knowing what city they are waking up in.
We had a fantastic room in a roman style and could imagine ourselves back in Rome with Caligula being so indulgent.
The hotel is regularly updated and kept to a high standard keeping to the principles that have made it a success.

Unique Quality: The style of the rooms, along with the good service in a relaxed environment, supplemented with a good restaurant and bar.

Marriott Maida Vale: Off the Tourist Track in Maida Vale

We stayed at this hotel for a week in March 2007. While it is not central to tourist London, it is clean, economical, comfortable, and well-appointed. It's a five to ten minute walk from the Kilburn Park tube station on the Bakerloo line. The Tube is so easy to use, we never felt inconvenienced by location except for dining options close-by. The bar and restaurant on-site are worthwile, but not a good choice for those on a budget. For example, with the exhange rate, a rum and coke in the bar will cost you about $11 USD. The front desk staff was friendly, and we were able to check in earlier than anticipated.

Unique Quality: For an ecomical breakfast or lunch try the neighborhood grocery across the street and bring some food back to your room. This is also a good bet for finding an international phone card to call back home.

Cassandra Guest House: Plymouth best accommodation

We stayed at Cassandra Guest House in August 2007.
I would strongly recomment anyone to stay there, it doesnt seem to be much advertised on the Internet or by the tourist office, but it is really worth it!

Unique Quality: It is a lovely place, the owners are very friendly and the rooms (most ensuite) are spot clean. They serve both continental and full English breakfast.
The location is excellent, only 5 min walk to The Hoe and the seafront, with easy access to all ameniities and also to the Barbican area (where most bars are located).

Yann's London Apartment: Stay away - far away!

My son booked to stay here for a week in July 2007 and it was so bad he couldn't stay!.. The place was filthy. Dirty dishes in the sink, hairs all over the shower. Bloody garbage... They had to clean the toilet before they could use it. Also, the apartment looks nothing like the pictures, and the bed is not a futon... it's a bean bag... the whole apartment looks and smells filthy!

My son had to locate other accommodation at the last minute which was very expensive. So far the owner has refunded $80 of the $740 paid.

Comfort Inn Earls Court: Comfort Inn Earls Court

Stayed at the hotel twice in 2006 and 2007. The hotel is very comfortable (hence, the name) and clean, the staff are friendly, the breakfast was good, and the location is handy. Earls Court is not exactly Central London, but the hotel is around the corner from the Tube and there are plenty of markets, restaurants, and pubs in the area. The area gets a bit loud, as the hotel is a half block from Earls Court Road - a busy street with pubs and very close to Stamford Bridge. But, overall I love the place.
