One thing that we found curious, and frustrating at times, were the times that pubs served food. Most kitchens were open at 12 pm and closed by 3 pm. Some re-opened at 6 pm and closed again at 9 or 10 pm.
It took some getting used to and we were caught several times thinking that we could wait to eat and then finding that no place would serve us. We found this to be the case more in the smaller towns and villages.
