Me in Bridligton on a cold winter day
I am surprising some friends in Bridlington and I am flying into Manchester. What is the fastest and cheapest way to get to Bridlington without having to rent a car? After a 7 houf flight. I dont want to sit on a bus for 6 more!!
Any suggestions??
Well, if you want cheapest it's bus or coach. If you want fastest (and most expensive.....it will cost a small fortune) it's a taxi. Otherwise, it's the train, and then a bus or a taxi (I don't think there's a station at Bridlington). Maybe renting a car might be worth considering after all?
www.nationalrail.co.uk for train timetables. Much will depend on your UK arrival time too...........it will be much more difficult to get to Bridlington if you arrive late afternoon or evening.
Good luck!
There is a station at Bridlington and the trains go from hull every 30 minutes. It is 31 miles from Hull and the train takes about 45 minutes to do the journey through pleasant countryside.
As I said earlier in another message some trains go directly from Manchester Airport to Bridlington but some are only Manchester Airport to Hull trains and you would have to change trains in Hull for Bridlington.
Unfortunatly the timetable is not working at the Transpennine Express site tonight but if you just put Transpennine Express in to a search engine you can get times of trains there.
I am unsure of prices - a Hull to Manchester return is £30 so a Manchester Airport to Bridlington single should be approx £24 ( $38???).
DO NOT HIRE A CAR!!!! If you have never driven here do not do it without some practice in a quiet place first.
hello
It is easy to go by train and quite a good journey. You might have to go into manchester first from the airport(by train) but that is easy, from manchester go into Hull and then change up to Bridlington. Not sure of cost but you'll be able to get it off internet. Don't rent a car, it is an awful journey on the M62.
