My Short stay at Grimsby
This Hotel arranged by my company.First sight of this hotel is not attractive its all gloomy and dull in short I think this hotel need drastic renovation.Next in reception--They were good and quite helpful too till my stay at hotel.Once I finished my formalities on counter I moved to lift.Ohhhhhh Goddddddddddd it was taking ages to come down to ground floor I mean it was on first floor and to reach till ground floor it took more than 2 mins,just bcoz I had my luggage with me I didnt used stairs.And they put me on first floor,all the time I can see is old people not single young person I saw that evening,that hotel for that evening looked like old age home.
Anyways my room was neat and clean.I got room looking over to St.James cathedral and only problem with room in front I think is there is lawn in front of this hotel where you will see lot of guys and girls who are in their teen hangover till late and move in here early morning,they shout,scream and do all kinda funny thing which is quite annoying sometimes and its beyond hotel management's control but that was ok for me.As therse annoying sound help you to wakeup in morning.
Breakfast is free which is quite good.Other problem with this hotel is same dinning area they let it some function like marriage reception or birthday party which happened during my 2 days stay in that case I had to compromise with my lunch I mean menu will be simple which is annoying and have to take dinner and lunch in other room which they were using for dinning in case of actual dinning space is occupied.Actually my company has booked this place for me so didnt make noise for things but if I am paying money from my pocket then I am sure I will find other better hotel.
Unique Quality: Parking is free if you are staying here which is plus point,reception I liked and wifi is free no need to pay anything thats the biggest advantage I had.And ofcourse I prefer this place for its location.Overall I can give this place 6/10.

The hotel seems to be very run down and the rooms are very basic with what felt like childs beds in the twin room i stayed in over 3 nights. It had very old furniture and i was concern about sleeping on the matress as i wouldn't have ruled out bed bugs although i should add that i wasn't bitten. It really had a feel of being cheap student accomadation and i was quite dissapppointented with the whole room in general and the cleanliness. However it was easy to book even late at night probably due to having a 24hr reception and a large hotel with over 300 rooms. I have now found that it has a poor reputation with the locals wouldn't stay again. Being from the Grimsby area i would never stay in hotels but with family when i visit but this weekend i was unstuck for a place to stay and St James seemed ideal being set in the centre of town and having parking facilities. The kind of clientele i saw at the hotel during my stay included a fancy dress stag night for men and foreign fishermen that must have docked for a couple of days and taken the stench of the fish with them which lingered in the communal areas.
