Worse hotel on the Isle of Wight
This hotel was absolutely the worse hotel we have ever stayed in. It was filthy. The electrics were dangerous. The food uneatable. The bar dreadful. The staff - not good at all. The only thing that could improve this hotel is demolishing it. Thank heavens we only had to stay 2 days. If there had been vacancies anywhere else we would have moved out. It was expensive at £170 for two nights. Considering the bed was so awful we couldn't sleep, we should have been paid to stay here. We also came home with some very curious bites on our arms and legs! The breakfast had obviously been standing for some time and was cold. We couldn't possible have stayed for any other meals. All the guests seemed to have the same opinion. At the very least, Health & Safety should pay a visit and ask why fire doors were wedged open, why stairs were dangerous, why shower doors fell off, why electrics were so dangerous. THere are so many complaints I will run out of space to complain. My recommendation is to demolish the place and bar the owners from ever running a hotel again.
Unique Quality: Pool empty and had been for years - worse then a mucky garden pond. View of the sea beautiful. View of the down pipe leaking on to the flat roof not good. The only outstanding characteristics are that it is a total dump. Would not recommend anybody to stay there. A park bench would have been cleaner and more comfortable.

shanklins worst
this was the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. when we arrived the room was still being cleaned baring in mind you have to be out of the rooms at 10am and cant enter until 3pm which gives them 5hours.when we entered the room it was still very dirty,toe nail clippings on floor,pet hair on and in the bedding.hair in the sink.when we approched the staff they said it was clean so we showed them as far as they were concerned there was nothing wrong,we had 2 nights from hell and could not wait to leave which is not like us because we love the island and visit a few times a year.the breakfast was okay but not enough cups,cereal,watered down juice,tea from a flask. i would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy.
