Castles, tunnels, and fairies

Dover Castle is quite large and from on top of the ramparts you can gaze across the English Channel (weather permitting) and see France. We went to Dover with my sister and two sailor friends that only had a short port call. They really wanted to go to the races at first, but thanked me for diverting them to such a cultural icon. They have circumnavigated the globe and really enjoyed their visit to Dover.

Spending time with Aunt Ann and Uncle Dave. I was originally to spend two nights with them, but as I couldn't get a berth on the Friday sleeper to Glasgow I had to take the Thursday one, which meant one less night with them. So we rushed about on the Thursday, going to Dover Castle in the morning and Canterbury in the afternoon. A quick dinner at a restaurant and then back to the house to pack my things. Dropping me off later at Chatham Station to get to London to catch my train to Glasgow. Thank you Aunt Ann, Uncle Dave, it was short but sweet!

Pencester Park, right in the middle of Dover, on a nice day is really good, but busy. There are skateboarders and also a bandstand, though I have never seen any bands! It is the recreation space neaxt to the town centre
Motorcycle Racing

Dover even has it's own race circuit!
It is about 5 miles out of town on the way to Canterbury. It is a friendly circuit and is suitable for all the family.
I think that nowadays it is mainly motorcycle racing that takes place here. Bring suitable clothing for the day!
