St Margaret's Holiday Park: A great base for exploring Kent

We spent a week at the St Margaret's Holiday Park, which lies a few miles east of Dover at the small village of St Margaret's at Cliffe. Accommodation is self-catering, which suited us fine as it meant we could come and go as we pleased without being restricted to mealtimes. My family and I had two bungalows, which the owners made sure were next to each other. Each bungalow had a lounge and kitchen, a bathroom and two bedrooms - it was basic, but perfectly adequate for a week's stay.

The complex also has a nice swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna that all residents can use. There is a small shop and a laundry on site, and a restaurant should you prefer not to cook. We ate there once, and I wouldn't really recommend it! There is also a bar with nightly entertainment.

We stayed in mid-September, and the price per person worked out around £90 each (six people sharing two bungalows).

The village of St Margaret's at Cliffe is within walking distance, and it's not far to the cliffs and the walks leading from there.

Unique Quality: It's a fairly standard holiday park, but it's location is great if you're wanting to explore the Dover/Canterbury area. Perfect for families too.

The Park Inn: Convenient Location

I haven't stayed here but had a look in a couple of the rooms so I could write this for VT! The two rooms that I saw were of a good standard. They were very clean but a little on the small side. The bathrooms were very clean and looked newly done.
There about 6 rooms in the establishment and the hotel is in the centre of the town.

Bleriots: Not a chain or bland place to stay!

If you want to stay in a decent, well priced guest house, then this is for you.

Martin Casey, the owner is a motorcyclist and a member of the Suzuki Owners Club and knows the problems encountered when looking for decent and secure places to stay.

If you email him for information, please say where you saw the link and tell him Paul Devall recommended you!!!!

It's a shame i had to start an entire page on Dover rather than jjust add this through the tips page....
