It is in a very peaceful location and is a perfect place for reflection for those that lost their lives in the famous battle. There are a couple of replica planes in the area close to te memorial. (Hurricane and Spitfire.)
There is a car park (no charge) several information boards, and a souvenir shop that sells tea and coffee.
THE METROPOLE
by whitecliff62
The metropole is now better known as the Folkestone arts center with a health and fitness club and a fine restaurant. This was once a truly luxurious hotel and victorian architecture at its best but sadly it has been turned into luxury appartments, still i can't think of a better place to live, can you?
FOLKESTONES OLDEST
by whitecliff62
This is Folkestones oldest street, it leads from the town to the harbour at the bottom, there are some lovely little shops down this road too. Well worth a walk to the bottom, but its a killer on the legs when you walk back up
