Leeds Castle: East Sussex, near Maidstone
"The Front of Leeds Castle"
You have to walk down a lovely path from the ticket booth to get to the entrance to the castle. The castle has a fascinating history of ownership, which is described in the first room you tour here.
"Blinding colors at Leeds"
I have never seen gardens as lush and colorful as at Leeds. These bushes look painted, don't they? I didn't mess with the color on this at all, I promise. :)
"Leeds Castle grounds"
The grounds go on seemigly forever here, and it's all beautiful.
Also, check out the gift shop in the cottage garden area. It's full of cute souvenirs, and a collection of classic novels in paperback for about 1/4 the price of the same books in America. I got three. :)
"Culpeper Gardens"
The country gardens near the gardener's cottage at Leeds--just beautiful!
