Blackpool - England
I have visited Blackpool on several occasions, mostly when I was a child, but I did take my husband there several years ago as he had never been before!
Hailing from the north of England myself, Blackpool is a popular seaside resort that many Brits visit, especially northerners and it is also popular for stag and hen parties.
Most people will almost certainly go up Blackpool Tower and visit the Tower Ballroom where many elderly people go to dance to the sound of the Wurlitzer Organ. There is also a famous fun fare at the Pleasure Beach and the pier is popular to walk along. All along the seafront you will find lots of Bed and Breakfast establishments, amusement arcades, bars and shops selling souvenirs and of course the beach is just opposite if the weather is good.
Many people also go to see the Blackpool Illuminations along the Golden Mile seafront road. These occur at the beginning of September to the beginning of November and it can take many hours to see the illuminated decorations due to the amount of cars driving very slowly down the road!
