Travel Tips for Blackpool

The Pleasure Beach

by VickiJ

Right at the end of the Prominade is Blackpools Pleasure Beach, i think that its £30 to get a wristband and you can go on the rides as many times as you like - you can even leave the park and return again the same day (they even do weekend passes).

So of the rides at Blackpool are ancient - these are the best as they feel so unsafe!!! My favourite ride is the Grand National. This rollercoster is best gone on if there are a few of you and some can go on one cart and some on another and see who wins. Its a rollercoaster which was constructed in 1935 (and feels like it) it is made out of wood and is rickety - and the seats move about it is that old - its great!!!

Some of the rides are rollercoasters which are found in many theme parks such as the loop d' loop and the powerblast (the one where you get shot up in the air on a hydrolic thing, you know the one....you get blasted up 210 feet in the air at crazy miles an hour!)

The Pepsi Max is one of the highest rollercoasters ever - at 235ft high and speeds of up to 87mph i don't like this ride - although this ride is probably a lot safer than the Grand National - it doesnt feel like it!!! (I still go on it though and so should you if you are visiting!)

Another scarey ride is the Spin Doctor - it has something to do with Russian Space - think it is the same technology that they use of something - anyhow - you are on two massive arms that spin around and your little open cage thing that you sit in spins around...the 1st time i went on it was ok, the 2nd time i hated it!!!

There are also wet rides such as the log flume and one called Valhalla (which is really good!) And also rides for Children such as Alice in Wonderland and Beavers Creak!
